USA - Central

Overview

The central region of the USA may not be as well known as its neighbours to the East and West but it still offers some fabulous destinations to explore. The region stretches from the Great Lakes in the North to the mighty Mississippi in the South and a vast amount of interest in between including the famous cities of Chicago and New Orleans.

Whilst the region may not boast the obvious draws of the West, this region still boasts some incredible scenic attractions, vibrant cities and places of historic interest.

Chicago may be known as the Windy City but with some extraordinary architecture, art, and festivals it should be know as the surprising city. St Louis with its Gateway Arch and riverboat tours and the twin cities of Minneapolis/ St Paul's will also satisfy your hankering for big city life. The Great Lakes boast beautiful beaches, tranquil parks and unspoilt islands, whilst further west the badlands of Dakota are home to haunting deserts and Mount Rushmore.

Chicago is also the gateway to some iconic American Journeys.
Drive Route 66, all the way to the Pacific Coast or follow the Mississippi south on the Rhythm Road to New Orleans. The music cities of Memphis and Nashville offer fabulous night life and places of interest including the home of Elvis, the iconic Graceland.
