Tour Itinerary

Day 1 London Heathrow - Phnom Penh
Check in for your outbound overnight flight to Cambodia

Day 2 Phnom Penh – Arrival – Sightseeing - Boat Cruise on Mekong River
Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon visit some of the capital’s most impressive sites, including the National Museum, the Silver Pagoda containing the Emerald Buddha statue, the Royal Palace and Phnom Penh’s oldest shrine, Wat Phnom & Russian Market. Late afternoon, board a local-style boat 1 hour boat cruise on Mekong River, enjoy the scenery of the green vegetation, the fishing village, pagoda and sunset view on the Royal Palace.

Day 3  Phnom Penh – Sightseeing 
Morning is free at leisure
In the afternoon, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the notorious Khmer Rouge Killing Fields. End the tour with one-hour rejuvenating traditional Khmer massage at La Rose Spa.

Day 4  Phnom Penh - Kratie
Drive to Kratie, a small town that has retained its colonial-era charm and renowned as the best place to spot the rare, fresh water Irrawaddy dolphins. Upon arrival we check in to our hotel. In the afternoon we have a brief tour around the old colonial town of Kratie and the hilltop temple of Wat Phnom Sambok before going to see the dolphins at Kampi pool (The best time to see dolphins is during the dry season from January-August.).

Day 5 Kratie – Kompong Cham – Kompong Thom 
This morning we have an excursion to Wat Rokakandal Center, an ancient pagoda that has been refurbished and converted to a local museum displaying Cambodian crafts. We then head for Chhlong Village with its French Colonial building and old Khmer houses before driving to Kompong Cham. We also visit the unique 11th century Angkorian temple of Wat Nokor, a Mahayana Buddhist shrine built from sandstone and laterite. After a brief visit to Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and Phnom Srei (Woman Hill), each with its own hilltop temple. Continue to Kompong Thom.

Day 6 Kompong Thom – Sambor Prei Kuk - Siem Reap
In the morning drive 30 km to the 7th century Sambor Prei Kuk temple. Along the way observe everyday life of rural Cambodia. Visit the ancient capital of Chenla with its 100 temples dating from the pre-Angkor period. The complex at Ishanapura is composed of four groups of temples that are among the most ancient surviving examples of Khmer architecture. After lunch, drive to Siem Reap. On arrival Day 5 Kompong Thom – Sambor Prei Kuk - Siem Reap
In the morning drive 30 km to the 7th century Sambor Prei Kuk temple. Along the way observe everyday life of rural Cambodia. Day 7 Siem Reap - Angkor Complex
Begin exploration of the ancient city by entering Angkor Thom via the South Gate. Continue with the ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terraces and the Leper King Terrace. In the afternoon visit magnificent Angkor Wat with its extraordinary architecture and bas-reliefs. End the day with a spectacular sunset viewed from the top of the mountain temple of Phnom Bakheng.

Day 8 Siem Reap - Angkor Complex 
After breakfast proceed to the graceful 11th century Temple of Shiva - Banteay Srei – and the Banteay Samre temple. On the way back, view the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seen sculpted female deities, the Lake of Srah Srang and the impressive Ta Prohm Temple, which remains in the clutches of the enveloping jungle. Visit the Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevada, and Thommanon temples before returning to hotel.

Day 9 Siem Reap - Battambang
Today, we drive to the Provincial of Battambang (173kms) – Cambodia's second-largest city, which was founded in the 11th century. It is the former capital of Monton Kmer and lies in the heart of the Northwest of Cambodia. Until the war years, in which almost every infrastructure was destructed it was the leading rice-producing province of the country.  In the same morning, we will visit the Provincial Museum (Close on every Saturday and Sunday) and drive along the picturesque Sangker River to visit Wat Ek Phnom (11th century - Suryavaman I).  In the afternoon, we will visit the Phnom Sampeau and killing field/cave before continuing to Phnom Banon, with its five sandstone towers on the top of a hill and enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding plains.

Day 10  Battambang – Visit Cultural Villages – Phnom Penh 
You will be taken to some of the many cultural villages around Battambang, where you will learn how the locals produce traditional products (such as rice paper, dried bananas, and bamboo sticky rice) made in the same way they have been for generations. You will learn first-hand about everyday life in rural communities. Taste and experience the pleasures of these products fresh off the fire.  Spend some relaxing time in a traditional Khmer house enjoying seasonal fruits and coconut water. Finish your tour by visiting a memorial site for the victims of the Khmer Rouge.
Afternoon, we drive to Phnom Penh.

Day 11  Phnom Penh - Departure 
Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
