At THG Holidays, we sell a lot of AmaWaterways, and now I truly understand why. There’s a real difference between knowing a product and experiencing it first-hand, and this trip has given me a whole new appreciation for river cruising.
It all started with a seamless flight with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from Cardiff Airport to Amsterdam. For those of us travelling from South Wales, having such an easy connection close to home was a brilliant way to start the trip.
With our ship docked right in the heart of Amsterdam, we had the perfect opportunity to explore before setting sail.
From there, our journey took us to Antwerp in Belgium, followed by a stop in Luxembourg, the beautiful streets of Strasbourg, and finally Basel, Switzerland.
Along the way, we enjoyed guided tours, incredible food, wine tasting, beautiful vineyards and some unforgettable experiences both on board and ashore.
But what really impressed me was the overall experience. The service, the food, the excursions and the attention to detail were exceptional. The team genuinely couldn’t do enough for us, and everything felt so effortless.
I’ve stayed in some fantastic 5-star hotels, but this experience genuinely surpassed them. There’s something special about unpacking once, waking up somewhere new and discovering a different destination without the hassle of constantly changing hotels.
A huge thank you to AmaWaterways and everyone involved for such a memorable experience. I’ve come away with fantastic memories and even more enthusiasm for sharing the world of river cruising with our customers.
Nothing is too much trouble, and it’s the little details that turn a great holiday into an exceptional one.
