Famous for its canals and cycles, Amsterdam is perhaps the most relaxed and cultured capital you will find anywhere, dotted with galleries filled with the works of van Gogh, Rembrandt and Vermeer. After a delightful day at sea, we will arrive in the colourful city of Kristiansand, famed for the brightly painted buildings in its Old Town. Then it’s on to charming Copenhagen, where you can explore the wonderful shops and historic streets or take the breathtaking Øresund Bridge to Malmö in Sweden. Our final port of call is Skagen, where the Baltic and North Seas meet and nature and art unite, inspiring the works of countless Danish painters.

Kristiansand
Kristiansand, Norway, is a destination of immense coastal beauty and distinct Norwegian culture. Explore historic neighbourhoods like Posebyen, enjoy popular attractions such as Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park, and discover the scenic landscapes along the Skagerrak Strait.
Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark's capital, epitomises Scandinavian elegance with its historic charm and modern vibrancy. From royal palaces to innovative architecture, the city invites exploration of its cultural richness and harbour views.
Skagen
Skagen, Denmark's northernmost town, offers an engaging blend of maritime charm and artistic heritage. Visit the Skagens Museum to admire famous paintings by local artists who lived and worked in the area around the turn of the 20th century. Afterwards, indulge in local delicacies at renowned seafood restaurants along the harbour.
Just 22 nautical miles down river from the Tower Bridge in London, Tilbury is a popular turnaround port for cruises visiting Baltic and Northern European destinations.
North Holland’s ‘Gate to the North Sea’, IJmuiden has four harbours: the Vissershaven, Haringhaven, IJmondhaven and the Seaport Marina - the latter used by pleasure craft. It is the largest Dutch fishing port, but is a relatively young town: it grew up in the 1870s when the North Sea Canal was opened. During World War II, the German Navy demolished much of the town and built huge fortified concrete bunkers for their torpedo boats and submarines. After 1945, the town was rebuilt by the architect Willem Marinus Dudok. He designed IJmuiden’s most impressive building, the Stadhuis van Velsen, which houses local government offices. For cruise passengers IJmuiden is the gateway to Amsterdam, the Dutch capital and one of Europe’s truly great cities, where elegant canals are lined by old brick gabled houses, and superb art galleries and museums are home to some of the world’s best-known paintings. Please note that complimentary shuttle buses operate from the port to the centre of IJmuiden, not to Amsterdam.

Nicknamed "Sommerbyen" ("Summer City"), Norway's fifth-largest city has 78,000 inhabitants. Norwegians come here for its sun-soaked beaches and beautiful harbor. Kristiansand has also become known internationally for the outdoor Quart Festival, which hosts local and international rock bands every July. According to legend, in 1641 King Christian IV marked the four corners of Kristiansand with his walking stick, and within that framework the grid of wide streets was laid down. The center of town, called the Kvadraturen, still retains the grid, even after numerous fires. In the northeast corner is Posebyen, one of northern Europe's largest collections of low, connected wooden house settlements, and there's a market here every Saturday in summer. Kristiansand's Fisketorvet (fish market) is near the south corner of the town's grid, right on the sea.
By the 11th century, Copenhagen was already an important trading and fishing centre and today you will find an attractive city which, although the largest in Scandinavia, has managed to retain its low-level skyline. Discover some of the famous attractions including Gefion Fountain and Amalienborg Palace, perhaps cruise the city’s waterways, visit Rosenborg Castle or explore the medieval fishing village of Dragoer. Once the home of Hans Christian Andersen, Copenhagen features many reminders of its fairytale heritage and lives up to the reputation immortalised in the famous song ‘Wonderful Copenhagen’.

Dining includes the Buckingham Restaurant and Borough Market, with Alfresco Grill for fresh-air favourites. For something special, try Saffron*, Sea & Grass* or our Chef’s Table*.
Her dining options will inspire you with two main restaurants, speciality dining options*, and a more casual bistro-style café. Sit back, relax and enjoy a drink in one of her four bars, lounges and pub. Or take in a show in the tiered main theatre, or discover your hidden talents in the card room, library, and craft studio.
Other facilities include the wellness centre, gym, two swimming pools and a range of retail shops, perfect for days at sea.

Why not expand your taste buds at one of our speciality restaurants? We have Saffron*, offering exceptional Indian fusion cuisine, and premium fine dining in Sea & Grass* and a taste of the Mediterranean in Lupino's* (Ambition).
Then there is the pinnacle of dining with Ambassador, The Chef's Table*, which includes an exclusive galley tour, and the Executive Chef walking you through every course, talking about the inspiration behind the dish and its preparation.
Breakfast and lunch are generally served on an open seating basis, giving you and your appetite plenty of choice. Please note on board Ambition, at breakfast you can expect a full buffet with one special served to the table and for lunch there will be starter, soup and desert served buffest style with the main course served to the table. With dinner, we operate two sittings, which can be requested after booking your cruise. If you have any dietary requirements, we can easily accommodate - just let us know in advance.
